Jimmy Connors Arrested Outside College Basketball Game

Jimmy Connors has never been one to back down from a challenge. He's dealt with tennis referees, Bjorn Borg, and coaching Andy Roddick, approaching all with the same fire and intensity he showed on the court for a number of years.

Oh, and it appears he approaches the police that way too. Connors was arrested Friday night after refusing to comply with the cops outside UC Santa Barbara's basketball stadium.
The eight-time Grand Slam champion was taken into custody Friday night after refusing to comply with an order to leave an area near the entrance of the Thunderdome following a confrontation, police Sgt. Dan Massey said in a statement.

A police dispatcher said Connors was arrested at the beginning of the game. A Santa Barbara County jail employee said Connors was booked and released but did not have details.
I'd say on the list of dumb reasons to get arrested, this has to rank just above public urination. You got booked because you wouldn't leave an area? Who do you think you are, Rafael Nadal?

One of my favorite parts of arrest stories are the obligatory "Connors could not be reached for comment." Really? The dude that just got arrested for being an idiot wasn't happy to pick up his phone the second a news outlet dialed his digits? I'm shocked. I'm flummoxed. I'm truly perplexed!

Come on Connors, give a dude two seconds of your time.
