Twilight 'Zona: Tennis Seniors Arrested

Here we go again. How many stories like this are we going to get?

Stories of senseless tennis violence. And what do you get when this happens?

Ray Moore and George Morell know. Moore was wrestled to the ground by a cop, a knee in his back while he was cuffed, apparently bleeding. Both were arrested, and spent the bulk of the day in jail.

"There were five cop cars there,'' said Donna Morell, George's wife. "Five. My husband and Ray were in different cells all day, in solitary.''

Surely, they deserved it.

"They're in their 80s, you know,'' she said.

Two Tennis Players Detained in Sweden

STOCKHOLM (AP) -- Swedish police say two tennis players are suspected of soliciting prostitutes before the Stockholm Open.

The two men were identified only as foreign citizens. Investigation leader Jonas Trolle told The Associated Press on Monday that they were detained as they entered a hotel in Stockholm early Sunday with their escorts. He said both players were set to compete in the tournament, which started Monday.

Eat Something Damir, No One Cares if You Don't

This is probably not the right form of protest for tennis' ultimate Psycho Dad, Damir Dokic. See, the thing is, if you choose to hurt yourself, it's only effective if people care.

Dokic has spent enough time bullying, intimidating and threatening, much of that allegedly directed at his daughter, Jelena Dokic, that he doesn't exactly have the stuff of a martyr.

"I am very worried," Damir's lawyer, Bosijka Djukic, told the Associated Press Thursday.

So that's one. And Djukic said that Dokic' wife –- that makes two who apparently care -– had said that Damir won't take food, water or medicine in protest of his 15-month prison term in Serbia.

Williams Sisters Win Doubles, Streaker Wins 15 Seconds of Fame

Venus Williams and Serena Williams had little trouble defeating Japan's Ayumi Morita and Germany's Martina Muller at the Australian Open on Friday. The Williams sisters won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

Please note, however, that I said "little trouble," not "no trouble." I'm not talking about the three games they lost in each set. That's just part of the game of tennis. The little trouble they had was courtesy of a streaker who ran on the court and disrupted the match (NSFW photo after the jump).

Opposing Fans Brawl on Grounds of Australian Open

The tennis might have been pretty at the Australian Open Tuesday, but the action after play was over turned pretty ugly.

Croatian Marin Cilic defeated Serbian Janko Tipsarevic in four sets during round two, but the bigger story came when fans from both sides got so violent towards each other that cops had to be brought into Court Two and the brawl ended up spilling out into the Garden Square.

Jimmy Connors Arrested Outside College Basketball Game

Jimmy Connors has never been one to back down from a challenge. He's dealt with tennis referees, Bjorn Borg, and coaching Andy Roddick, approaching all with the same fire and intensity he showed on the court for a number of years.

Oh, and it appears he approaches the police that way too. Connors was arrested Friday night after refusing to comply with the cops outside UC Santa Barbara's basketball stadium.
